Jackson Anthony is a well-known Sri Lankan Actor who works for the Cinema, Theatre, and Television Industry. He was born in Podiwee Kumbura village, Ragama, Sri Lanka, on 8 July 1958. After schooling, he did his higher education at the University of Colombo and earned an honors degree in Sinhala Language. Later, he completed his post-graduation degree in Mass Media from the University of Jayawardenepura.

He started his career by performing in various plays such as Marasad, Madhura Jawanika, Loma Hansa, Dhawala Beeshana, Ath, and Mora. In 1993, he moved towards Movies and acted in films like Bawa Duka, Bawa Karma, Gini Awi Saha Gini Keli, Aswesuma, Agni Dahaya, Sooriya Arana, Mille Soya and Randiya Dahara. Along with the films, he acted in television serials Palingu Manike, Ella Langa Walawwa, Suseema, Weda Hamine, Kadulla, Pitagamgarayo, and Akala Sandya.

In 1992, he directed his first teledrama, Esala Kaluwara.In 2014, he led his second teledrama, Daskon. Later, he upgraded his skills and directed several movies. Juliette Bhumikawa is his directorial debut movie. Paradeesaya and Aba are some of his famous films.

Jackson's work was recognized, and received various awards. In 2015, he won the Best Actor award in Derana Film Award for the movie Address Na, directed by him. In his long career, he received various awards for Best Actor, the Sarasavi Awards, the Presidential Awards, and the OCIC Awards. He won the Most Promising Director award for the movie Julietge Bhumikawa.
