Kumara Thirimadura is an actor. He works in Sri Lankan cinema, stage drama and television. He was born on 17 April 1969 in Moratuwa, Sri Lanka. He studied at Prince of Wales College, Moratuwa, India. He has seven siblings and is the sixth child in the family. His father, Thirimadura Rantin de Silva, is a head authority in Sri Lanka Ports. His mother, Jothimuni Malini Miureen Perera, worked as a restaurant cashier. He has four elder sisters - Sandhya, Udaya, Ramya, and Soumya; one elder brother, Kosala; one younger sister, Bhagya and one younger brother, Chamila. He performed in numerous plays during his school years and received numerous accolades, which boosted his career. Nonetheless, he spent 14 years as a Divaina Newspaper journalist before pursuing an acting career. Even after acting, his journalistic career continued, but he dedicated himself entirely to working as a career. He is the director and screenplay writer of the film The Newspaper (2020).

He has written and acted in the movie Thanha Rathi Ranga (2014), directed by Nilendra Deshapriya. He also worked as a playback singer and performed in the film Raigamayai Gampalayayi (2018), directed by Lalith Premathilaka. He worked as an actor in the movies such as Jullietge Bhoomikawa (1998), Sonduru Dadabima (2003), Aksharaya (2005), Sewwandi (2006), Sikuru Hathe (2007), Machan (2008), Flowers of the Sky (2008), Ira Handa Yata (2009), Uththara (2010), Sinhawalokanya (2011), Gamani (2011), Ran Kewita 2 (2013), Bomba Saha Rosa (2013), Parapura (2014), Lantin Singho (2015), Maya 3D (2016), Ali Kathawa (2017), Yama Raja Siri (2018), Reload (2019), Tsunami (2020), Colombo (2021), Yaaluwoda? Through this teledrama, he got many positive responses from the audience, and since then, he has worked in many teledramas in various genres. He presented a program called Maarai Hirai which was telecasted on the TV Derana channel. In 2019, he released the book Mage Jeewithe, which the Sri Lankan Department of Education recognized as an educational book. Also, he wrote the book Karaliye Rasa Katha, initially a paper column note. He won many awards, including the Best Actor Award, Merit Award, Best Screenplay Writer, Best Actor in a supporting role, Jury Award, Best Supporting Actor, and many more.
