C Sathya is a director and composer of music and also a singer from India. He has his origins in the Southern part of India. People remember him best for his work in the film with the name of Engaeyum Eppothum. Engaeyum Eppothum was the first movie to which he contributed his talent. He was the music composer in the motion picture.

The film was a tremendous hit. The songs in the motion picture, which showcased C Sathya’s talent were enjoyed by all and became popular too. The songs in this picture got made in the Tamil language, the same language in which the film itself got made. After his work with this hit motion picture, he got a lot of appreciation. With attention and fame, he gained several opportunities in similar films. He was only engaged with Tamil motion pictures initially but ventured out to do various other south Indian language movie songs too.

The first Telugu film he worked for was Something Something. Though it has an English title, the motion picture was made in the Telugu language (The official language of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh). The songs were made in the same dialect too. Something that separates C Sathya from other Music composers is that he possesses a style of formulating melodies, which is different from others. Very obviously, his style and way are liked by all and come out to be very soothing and melodious.

He specialized in Carnatic music. Carnatic music or Karnataka Sangitam is one of the two big divisions in the classical forms of Music practiced in India. Though it says Karnataka, Carnatic music could be associated to the whole of South India. It also gets practiced as far as to the neighboring country of Sri Lanka. Along with being a classical Karnataka Sangitam singer, he can also play the harmonium, which aids in such singing. The harmonium is similar in function to the modern Keyboard, and thus, he was able to perform on the keyboard for various music directors such as Bharadwaj.

Despite his talent, he had to wait for getting known in the industry. He did a film in 2009 called Yaen Ippadi Mayakkinai, but it never got released. However, his songs for this motion picture were circulated and were heard by the makers of Engaeyum Eppothum, who signed him up for this very film. Just a while after the hits in his first movie, he did two others with the title of Ponmaalai Pozhudhu Click to look into! >> Read More... and Sevarkodi.
