Soundararajan is an Indian Cinematographer. He was born on 29 August, 1976. He predominantly works in Tamilian, Malayalam and Telugu movie industries. He was born in Uthiramerur, Tamil Nadu to Saranathan and Chandra. He was brought up in Kancheepuram. He attended Loyola College, Chennai and did his bachelor’s degree in Visual Communications. He got married to Anusha on 11 December, in the year 2005. They are parent to two, Nikita and Advaith born in 2006 and 2008, respectively. Soundararajan then approached P.C. Sreeram for learning and building work experience. Sreeram referred him to K.V. Anand who accepted him as an assistant.
They started working subsequently on movies including NerukkuNer in 1997, Mudhalvan in 1999 and Josh in 2000, before working as a probationer till Khakee in 2004. Soundararajan took his first break as a lead Cinematographer with Sukran in 2005. Soon after it, he worked on projects like Kana Kandaen in 2015, this film was directed by his mentor K. V. Anand. He was honoured to get an opportunity by director Shankar to shoot Arai En 305-il Kadavul in 2008, it was ChimbuDeven’s movie. He marked his impressions on the very prominent projects of industry including the fantasy movies, Anaganaga O Dheerudu in 2011. He worked considerably on the visual effect for the first time.
Soundararajan continued to work with Anand in collaboration in Maattrraan in 2012, the Tamil movie. In the film, Suriya was supposed to portray a character of conjoined twin. The team had to work on the illusion of desired pictorial representation of image on screen, using different techniques. Soundararajan won critical acclaim for his work in VaavaiMoodiPesavum, the bilingual, in the year 2014. The award was presented for his depiction of a fictional hill town.
He also grabbed an award for his work in Bogan by Lakshman in 2017. Soundararajan worked in flowing movies as a Cinematographer in Sukan in 2005, Kana Kandaen in the same year, Aadhi in 2006,Arai En 305-il Kadavul (2008), Billa (2009) (Telugu film), Bale Pandiya (2010), Anaganaga O Dheerudu (2011) (Telugu film), Maattrraan (2012), SamsaaramAarogyathinuHaanikaram (2014) (Malayalam film), VaayaiMoodiPesavum (2014), Isai (2015),
Romeo Juliet (2015), Saahasam (2016) (one song),
Bengal Tiger (2015) (Telugu film), Bogan (2017). Soundararajan has proved his grounds in his professional life. He has held his status of work efficiently and promptly. He always has done justice to the projects he grabbed in his career. And not to mention everybody has paid him with praise and love.
