Sumathi

Born on 19th of August, 1964 in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, she is an actress who has acted in various Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi language films. She was nicknamed “Baby Sumathi” as she worked in a lot of films as a child actress. She has seven brothers and three sisters, all of whom were taken care of by their mother while her father managed several businesses.

To do so, both of them moved in with their aunt in the year 1966. She started out, as a child actress, by playing the role of the daughter of veteran actor Gopi in the late 60’s, after which she went on to act in various films. She played dual roles and also essayed roles of boys.

She also started acting in various Telugu and Malayalam movies. She won many Nandi and Filmfare awards as a child actress. She won the Kerala State Film Award three times in the years 1969, 1972 and 1977 respectively. As she grew up, she started modeling and endorsing many products. Currently, she is married and settled in the United States, with her daughter and son.
