V Selvaganesh is an Indian Percussionist, music composer, and director worked in Telugu and Tamil film industry. He is one of the leading kanji players of his generation and currently he is working in the Carnatic Tradition.He is known by another name Chella S. Ganesh in film Industry. He was born in Chennai, in Tamil Nadu, in India. He is the son of VikkuVinayakram, a musician who won Grammy music award and he is also a member of Original Shakti. He is also Grand-Son of T.R. HariharSharma who founded Sri Jaya Ganesh Tala-vadya Vidyalaya located in Chennai.

Selvaganesh rose to stardom through his tour with Remember Shakti group whose owner is John McLaughlin. He gives a hand to his father with running the Sri JGTV School. He is also involved in teaching a new bunch of Carnatic Percussionists to carry on the talent towards next generation. He played with Jonas Hellborg, a famous Swedish bass player, and Shawn Lane, a well-known American guitar virtuoso. In 2006, Selvaganesh debuted in music world through International solo Album, Soukha.

He collaborated with Dr. Joel, a Goan song writer, and producer from UK and Mahesh, a young and talented Carnatic singer. They formed a group named Dr. JSM and released an Indo-Celtic Album with the title “Turn On The Dreams” in 2005 in The United Kingdom.

Selvaganesh began his directorial venture in Tamil film Industry with the short film Bodhai. He is also the composer of the Four-Track Song which was released by Saregama in digital format. He made his debut in big screen by composing music for 2008 Tamil movie VennilaKabadiKuzhu. In 2009, He was music director and composer for the Tamil film Kola KolayaMundhirika. The music album for this movie contains songs of diverse styles that include a Bhangra song(Punjabi Style) by versatile singer Shankar Mahadevan, a Tamil language folk song, a hip-hop track, and a romantic ballad duet by legendary duo S.P. Balasubrahmanyam and K.S. Chithra.

The collaboration of top musicians occured for the first time in the history of Tamil films that so many internationally famous musicians collaborated in a single film music album. He is also music composer of the Tamil films Drohi(2010), Nil GavaniSellathey(2010), Kullanari Kottam (2011),etc. He is also the composer for the songs of Telugu movies PillaZamindar(2011), Shiva ManasuloShruthi(2012), Etc. He is signed to compose songs for the films VennilaKabadiKuzhu 2 and Chitrangada.
