Rita

Rita Thyagarajan is a Tamil playback singer. She is also known as Sucharitha Thyagarajan. She was born on 10 June 1984 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. She sings in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, English, Kannada, and Malayalam language. Her mother is Lalitha Thyagarajan who was an artist and a classical Veena player. She started learning classic Carnatic Music when she was five years old. She later learned Hindustani Classical Music. She completed her education at P.S Senior Secondary School in Mylapore and completed her bachelor's in design from Stella Maris College. She is also a graphic designer and a visualizer.

She also founded a design studio of integrated freelance professionals called Utopik. She started her career with D. Imman when he called her after listening to her song which she recorded in college titled Yendan Varungaalaveetukaraney from the movie Aanai. And after that, she has sung 300 songs in multiple languages. Her big break was the song Vada Mapillai in Villu which was the best song of the year at the Radio Mirchi music awards. She was nominated for the Filmfare awards for her song Allegra. She recorded a Telugu song Panchadharabomma for M.M. Keeravani and this song also won the song of the year at the Radio Mirchi music awards. She has worked on three television title songs which were Kalyana Parisu in 2014, Vidhi in 2017, and Nila in 2019.
