Unlike foreign countries, India has produced a very few good rappers. Among them, very few have managed to achieve critical as well as commercial success. 'Blaaze' is one of them. Born on October 15, 1975, his birth name is Lakshmi Narasimha Vijaya Rajagopala Sheshadri Sharma Rajesh Raman and originally belongs from Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India.

 Apart from being a successful rapper, he is also a lyricist, producer, singer, musician, editor, and songwriter. His family belongs to the Brahmin community. However, since his father worked as an architect, the family traveled to several places. As a result, Blaaze's childhood passed in Kitwe, Zambia. He completed his higher education at Columbia College Hollywood, United States of America.

Rekha Srinivasan, his sister, is a classical dancer and founder of Bharat Nritya Academy, New Jersey. More than a hundred students learn dance forms like Bharatnatyam and Kathakali from the academy. From a young age, Blaaze showcased an avid interest in performing arts and would dance on several occasion.

Later, he veered towards music. At the age of sixteen, he presented for the election campaign of Zambia's president Chiluba. It was his first project as a musician. Five months later he featured in the country's first music video named Advice 4 Livin which was produced by him.

However, he got a break into Indian Film Industry at the age of twenty-six. A. R. Rahman gave him the opportunity to rap for a Tamil song that he was composing for Rajinikanth's movie. After his debut, offers began to pour in, and he worked on several songs like ‘Aayutha Ezhuthu’, ‘Kangalal Kaidhu Sei’, and many more. Blaaze had also lent his voice to Hindi movies and collaborated with talented music directors like Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, Yuvan Shankar Raja, Devi Sri Prasad, among others.

He has also worked on the Oscar-winning movie Slumdog Millionaire. Besides rapping, he has also written some songs and created solo music videos. He was also a pivotal part of Zambezi funk, a music band. What makes him stand out from others in his field is the fact that he tries to highlight social and political issues through his work.

MTV awarded him their Youth Icon Award in the year 2008, considering his efforts to create awareness about social causes. He also loves to cook and can whip up a delicious egg curry.  In fact, he has released a video, in which he is rapping and cooking at the same time.
