Anand Krishnamoorthi is primarily a sound editor, mixer, and designer working in the Hindi film industry. Besides that, he also has an interest in acting and screenwriting. He is an alumnus of the Loyola College and Anna University from where he did his Bachelor of Science in Visual Communication, and master's in Electronic Media respectively.
In 2005, he went to University of Bristol to obtain an M.A. in Film and Television Production. Since childhood, he was always curious and fascinated about the drilling that happens behind the camera and things actors do to get into the skin of their character.
His first brush with the glamour industry was in the year of 1990. He was only a child then. He starred in a Mani Ratnam's movie named Anjali where he played the role of a kind-hearted boy who doesn't hesitate in forging a friendship with a disabled boy and in fact encourages others of his age to do the same.
After that, he worked on several projects like Aasai, May Madham, Thalapathi, Sathi Leelavathi, and many more. In May Madam, he did enact the role of a mischievous junior photographer and in Sathi Leelavathi, his character is obsessed with a video camera.
Before going to the University of Bristol, he assisted famous Tamil director Balu Mahendra. After completing his M. A., he commenced working as a trainee for the British Broadcasting Corporation. In 2008, he re-commenced his work in the Tamil industry as a Production Mixer on a movie named Marmayogi.
His next project was Unnaipol Oruvan, which translates to someone like you in English. He edited the dialogues of the motion picture, handled its sound department and also did a small cameo in it as a geek who is a dropout from the Indian Institute of Technology.
He worked as a Supervising Sound Editor on the superstar Kamal Hassan's directorial film Vishwaroopam. It was a product of the Auro 3D format. He worked as the leader of the ADR on
Kalyana Samayal Saadham. He also co-directed Chinmaya Mission's production On a Quest, which takes inspiration from the life of Chinmayananda Saraswati.
He has directed a short film which touched upon the grave yet neglected issue of student suicide prevailing in the country. Some of his other works are Manmadhan Ambu,
Kaatru Veliyidai, Shadows of Silence, O Kadhal Kanmani, and much more. He also has an account on the social media platforms like the Twitter where he interacts with his fan base. All the people of Tamil have appreciated his work.
