Telugu film industry has tasted the direction of very few classics. Movies made by Adruthi Subba Rao are one of the finest pieces that Tollywood could ever watch. Born on 16th December 1912 in Rajahmundry, India he grew up in pure Telugu family background. Adruthi Subba Rao is not merely a cine director but he is a multi-talented human and has worked as a scriptwriter, cinematographer, producer and editor. During his mid 20’s he decided to be a cinematographer and against his parents will he attended St. Xavier’s college to pursue cinematography course.

After his studies, Adruthi Subba Rao didn’t succeed immediately but had to work in different branches of Hindi film industry. He did a part-time job in Bombay film lab, developed his skills and got few acquaintances. Before becoming a director, he started his film journey as an assistant editor for Dina Narvekar in Mumbai.

After that, he worked as a cinematographer and screenwriter for few Hindi movies. Even then his first debut direction was not in Telugu but in Tamil movie, Parijatapaharanam. In 1954 he directed his first Telugu movie, Amara sandesham which was a hit and amazed everyone in the film industry.

Gundu Sudarshan has acted at least in 350 films as a comedian and supporting characters and is an enthusiast in Tollywood. Not only in Telugu, had he directed few hit movies in Hindi too. The motion picture, Milan starring Nutan and Pran Sunil Dutt released under his direction is still counted a classic and it was a musical hit too. Sunhera Sansaar and Man ka Meet were also classical hits under his making in Hindi.
