Chittajallu Pullaiah was born in 1898 in Kakinada, India. He is a film director who is most familiar in the Telugu cinema industry. He is considered as the father of the movement of Telugu theatre. East India Film Company also works with Gemini pictures. He started his career in the year 1933 from the show Ramadasu. He has also worked with the motion picture Savitri which is based on the stage play named Mylavaram Bala Bharati Samajam. It was a huge budget movie which covered the entire Calcutta as well as other parts of India. The overall story is about the famous Epic Mahabharata's Savitri and Satyavan.

In 1935, he worked for the movie Shree Krishna Tulabharam. In 1937, he worked for the motion picture Chal Mohana Ranga, Mohini Bhasmasura, and Satyanarayana Vratam. In 1939, he worked in Vara Vikrayam written by Kallakoori Narayana Rao. The entire story is based on the dowry system which is familiar in India. In 1948, he made another movie, Malathi Madhavam which is about the love and marriage of a couple named Madhava and Makarand.

In 1942, he worked for the Talkie Bala Nagamma which is a silver jubilee film for Chittajallu. This movie was produced by Gemini Studios and is one of the successful movies which is remade in Tamil. It has gained the overall profit of 4 million and made an unbeatable record in the cinema industry. In 1948, he worked for the motion picture - Vindhya Rani. It is based on a play written by Pingali Nagendra Rao. The story revolves around the Kingdom of India’s Maharaja Jai Vera. On October 6, 1967, he died in Madras, India.
