Chittor V. Nagaiah was one of the veteran actors, who performed in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam movies. He was a writer, playback singer, director, producer and actor. Chittor V. Nagaiah has acted in more than 350 films in all the languages. He was the proud recipient of the Padma Shri from the Government of India. He was a degree holder in that period, when people rarely went to school. Â He also participated in the freedom struggle by the influence of Mahatma Gandhi. He had staged a number of plays in the theatres. Some of the plays were historical and some of them were patriotic. He simultaneously acted in Telugu and Tamil movies and reached fame within the short span. His film Ramadasu won the National Award in the year 1964. This was a great honor for his directorial career. His last film was Ennai Pol Oruvan in Tamil. He has also composed music for more than ten films and worked as a playback singer in 11 films. En Veedu is one of the best films in his direction. He was well versed in Telugu and Tamil. In the olden days, there were live recordings and hence the actors must be well versed with the language of the film. Hence there were many artists who were talented in many languages in olden days.
