Maruthi Dasari is a well-known screenplay writer, director, and producer, best known for his works in the Telugu film industry. He is especially known as the man who makes the best low budget movies and especially for his A-Rated jokes that gain popularity among the adult masses. Some of his best-known works are ‘Bus Stop’ and ‘Ee Rojullo’, both hit Telugu romantic comedy films. He was born on the 8th of October in the year 1981 in the Machilipatnam city in Krishna district in the state of Andhra Pradesh. After completing graduation, Maruthi moved to Hyderabad where he enrolled at DQ Entertainment International from where he studied animation and also did part time jobs to pay off his tuition fees.
Maruthi made his entry into the cinema industry by taking on the role of co-producer for Arvindh’s ‘Premisthe’. Later on, he started working with advertising agencies and got into the field of designing advertisements. Impressed by his works, Chiranjeevi, a famous actor, director, and politician asked him to design the advertisements for his political party’s (‘Praja Rajyam Party’) political campaigns. Later on, he went to work for multiple projects and also with many film directors like Ram Gopal Verma for their promotion work and designing their ads.
After being inspired by working with Ram Gopal Verma, Maruthi had decided to take on the role of director and started working on his first film. In the year 2012, he released, ‘Ee Rojulla’ starring actors like Srinivas,
Reshma Rathore, Shankar Rao, etc. The film is known to be one of the most low budget films with a production budget of about four crore rupees which ended up earning thrice the cost of about 12 crores in the box office. Some of his well-known works are ‘Kotha Janta’ in 2014, ‘
Bhale Bhale Magadivoy’ in 2015, both which he directed. He got married to Veenaraga Spandana in the year 2003.
