Sachet’s native place is Bhubaneshwar, in Odisha state and he is presently living in Mumbai. He is also actively involved in swimming and is born to a family of sports people. His grandfather, Ishwar Girdharlal Engineer, is a champion in the game of water polo. From a very young age, Sachet has been practicing swimming and has won several prizes for it as well. He has been an active member of the Otters Club, a top ranking institution, located in Bandra, Mumbai, which is exclusively for sports. This champion got his first victory in this sport at the age of five. Since then there has been no turning back for him. He participated in the Amateur Aquatic Association Championship in the year 2009, which was organized by the state government of Maharashtra. Engineer won five gold medals in the various swimming events in that competition. Next, he participated in the 27th Otters Club Competition and bagged seven gold medals and bronze for his swift swimming skills. Sachet has also exhibited his talents in the national meet for swimming. He recently completed his schooling at the famous Campion School, located at Colaba, in Mumbai. During his school days, he had to wake up at 4:30 in the morning to practice swimming and then head to school.
