He was born in the city of Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India. He is a well-known film-maker in South India. Radha Krishna Kumar in his initial years H worked as an assistant director for many movies and even wrote screenplay and dialogues for some.

In 2014, he directed his debut film Jil; it was an action thriller and did average business at the box-office. He was born in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India in a middle-class family. His father is Ramani Krishnan, and his mother is Radha Krishnan.

Radha Krishna Kumar as a child went to the St. John's Parish School, Visakhapatnam from where he completed his studies. In 2003, he packed his bags and went to Hyderabad to pursue a career in Filmmaking.

His motive and dream were to grow into a successful filmmaker, and he chased his dream very well. He has signed superstar Prabhas for his next movie. Prabhas became popular after Baahubali was a super hit in India. The duo is set to create a rocking film of which the title is undecided. The film is a multi-lingual thriller. In interviews, Radha Krishna Kumar says that Prabhas is his favorite actor.
