Rallapalli Narasimha Rao or more popularly known as Rallapalli, is a well-known actor from India known for his roles in films and television series in the Telugu and Tamil film industries. He is one of the most respected and loved film actors in the history of Telugu and Tamil cinema. He has made appearance in almost 900 films.
He was born on the 10th of October in the year 1955 in a village named Rallapalli in the mandal of Kambadur, in the district of Anantpur in Andhra Pradesh. He is popularly recognized by the masses for his prominent roles in Tamil movies like, ‘Minsara Kanavu’ and ‘Bombay’.
He made his acting debut in the year 1979, in the film ‘Toorpu Velle Railu’ which was in Telugu and starred alongside actors such as ‘
Sakshi Ranga Rao. This film was a remake of the film, ‘Kizhake Pokum Rail’ a Tamil movie. With this he had his hands full with offers from a lot of other movies. He later made appearances in many films such as, ‘Kanchiki Cherani Katha’ and ‘Kukka Katuku Cheppu Debba’ in the year 1979.
In 1981 he appeared in ‘Tyagayya’ and ‘Seeta Kokachiluka’ and in ‘Subhalekha’ in 1982. In the year 1983, he appeared in the films, ‘
Abhilasha’ in which he played the role of ‘
Vishnu Sharma’, ‘Mantrigari Viyyankundu’, ‘Alaya Sikharam’ and in ‘
Khaidi’ in which he played the role of ‘Sarma’. He did many prominent roles throughout the 80s and 90s.
In the year 1995, he appeared in ‘Subha Sankalpam’ in which he played the role of ‘Bheema Raju’, and then appeared in ‘Lingabadu Love Story’, in ‘Ghatothkachudu’, and in ‘Bombay’ in which he played the role of ‘Raallapalli’. He has also appeared in many films throughout the 2000s, such as in ‘Veerabhadra’ in 2006, ‘Donga Sachinollu’ in 2008, ‘Mitrudu’ in 2009 and ‘Uday Babu’ in 2011, etc. He received the Best Male Comedian Award at the Nandi Awards in 1986.
