Abhinaya Anand is a film actress in the Telugu film industry. Interestingly, she is speech and hearing impaired. Her first movie was ‘
Naadodigal’, in 2009. She got her break when A. R. Murugadoss saw her with her father. Her father was acting in a Telugu film called ‘
Stalin’, which was directed by Murugadoss. He was so intrigued by her that he advised M. Sasikumar to cast her in his next film. This film was ‘Naadodigal’. She went on to act in Shambo Shiva Shambo, as well as in its Kannada remake, ‘
Hudugaru’. Her performance was appreciated so much that she won two Filmfare awards, one each for Naadodigal and for Shambo Shiva Shambo. She acted in ‘Easan’, in 2010, and in the film, 7aum Arivu, in 2011, subsequently.
The year 2012 was very good for her as she had 3 Telugu releases in it. These were ‘Dammu’, ‘Dhamarukam’, and ‘
Genius’. She also earned her maiden lead role in ‘Chandrudu’, which is yet to be released. She portrayed minor roles in Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu, and ‘
Veeram’. The films ‘
Piravi’, ‘Mela Thaalam’, ‘
Poojai’, and ‘The Reporter’, are also in the pipeline.
