Akhila is a popular actress who mainly appears in Tamil tele serials, movies and also in Kannada, Malayalam, Telugu movies and serials along with television ad commercials. Originally a Kannadiga, Akhila whose full name is Akhila Kishore has been born and brought up in Bangalore to engineer parents. She completed her education from Bangalore and is a computer engineer herself. During her college days, She participated and won a beauty pageant and from then on started receiving good and lucrative modelling offers and decided to take up modelling as her career. After few years of modelling movies happened and she made her debut with the Kannada movies and serials. Recently she shifted her focus to the Tamil industry and appeared as a leading lady in the recently released Tamil comic flick- Kathai Thiraikathai Vasanam Iyakkam. Akhila also appeared In a pivotal character in the blockbuster hot serial Selvi which is the story of the life struggles and life events of two best friends Raadhika and Tamarai who happened to be to the same man- a ruthless and sleuth businessman. Akhila in this serial essayed the role of a bubbly , charming but sensible and responsible daughter of one of the lead female protagonist of the serial Pooja. Her portrayal of the character earned her many accolades and appreciation among the audiences and in recent interviews she was quoted saying that she enjoyed learning Tamil and acting in the Tamil industry and she wants to work more in Tamil and in various genres of serials and movies.
