K M Radha Krishnan is an Indian film industry music composer, playback singer and a lyricist. He is known for the work he has done in movies Anand, Chandamama, and Godavari. He is trained in Carnatic music by Vengamamba. He got the Nandi award by the state government of Andhra Pradesh in 2006 and was a jury member for Nandi award in 2010.

He was born in Gadwal, Telangana. Radha Krishnan’s father KV Mohan, who worked at All India Radio always inspired him to pursue music as a career. KV Mohan was a theatre actor and has done almost 500 stage shows. Radha Krishnan wanted to be a singer in his childhood, but soon he realized that he is better in music composing.

He completed a diploma from Hyderabad Music College after learning classical music for some years. He completed his training for being a music teacher in Gandhi Bhavan. He has also learned western classical for some years. He then researched on blending Hindustani music and Karnatic music. He has worked as sub-broker for NSE for about two years after completing his B. Sc.

His first film as a composer was ‘Silence Please’ which was a silent film. His latest release includes Oorantha Anukuntunnaaru and Shubhalekha+lu movies which were released in 2018. He has worked as a playback singer in movies like Chandamama in 2007, Megham in 2004, Siddu from Sikakulam in 2008, etc.

He has also worked as a lyricist in the movie Bhale Dongalu in 2008. He is a well known and experienced music composer in Tollywood. He won many awards for the movie Godavari in 2006.

K M Radhakrishnan is a music composer from Tollywood. Some of the notable films for which K M Radhakrishnan composed are Chandamama, Godavari, and Anand. In the year 2006, he was given the prestigious ‘Nandi Award’ by the Andhra State Government. He was also a Nandi Jury member in the year 2010. K M Radhakrishnan’s areas of expertise include Hindustani and Carnatic Music. K M Radhakrishnan also did a plethora of movies like ‘Bhale Dongalu’,’ Siddu From Sikakulam’, ‘Baladur’ and ‘Manasu Palike Mouna Raagam’. He has till now composed many devotional songs and television advertisements. Some of the traditional songs composed by K M Radhakrishnan still allure the audiences.
Radhakrishnan was born in the district of Salem in the southern state of Tamil Nadu. From the fourth standard, K M Radhakrishnan attended school in Coimbatore and later in Gadwal. His sole inspiration according to him was K V Mohan, his father, an employee of the All India Radio. Apart from working in AIR, his father had a keen interest in acting and light music. 

Radhakrishnan learned Carnatic music under the tutelage of Vengamamba. After completing a diploma course in music from Hyderabad, he joined as a music teacher in Gandhi Bhavan. K M Radhakrishnan did a lot of research on the fusion of Carnatic music and Hindustani. He also worked in the NSE, Mumbai Maharashtra after completing his Bachelor’s degree course.

K M Radhakrishnan is always a fan of S P Balasubramaniyam, the famous playback singer of the South Indian film industry. Radhakrishnan slowly initiated the careful analysis of songs and found out that a talented composer was hidden within himself. In the beginning, his main hobby was to better his father’s musical tunes. Sunil Kumar Reddy, an eminent filmmaker, gave Radhakrishnan his first break in Telugu movie industry through a movie called ‘Silence Please’ where he composed only background score.  Soon afterward, he also got the chance to work as a music composer for another Telugu movie, Hero. He fetched the National Award for his wonderful composition for the 2006 Telugu movie Godavari.
