Kalyani Malik

Kalyani Malik or also known as Kalyana Ramana is a renowned Indian playback singer and music director, who predominantly works in the Telugu film industry. He was born as Kalyan Koduri to Bhanumathi and Siva Shakti Dutta. His brother, M.M. Keeravani, and cousin, M.M. Srilekha, were also a music composer and playback singer. Kalyani is also a cousin of the ace director, S.S. Rajamouli, of Baahubali fame. At the age of 14, Kalyani ran away from home.

His passion for music started at a very young age and got inclined to it more when he became his brother’s composing assistant. He began his career as a chorus singer for his brother’s composition and eventually became a full-fledged singer with the song, Sannajaji Poova from the movie Yuvarathna. When he already learned the nuances of music composition, he started his career as a solo music director for television serials and jingles. He got his first major break when he scored music for Chandra Sekhar Yeleti’s Telugu film, Aithe, in 2003.

Out of all these films, he earned success for his outstanding work in Srinivas Avasarala’s Telugu romantic film, Oohalu Gusagusalade. The song he scored for the film entitled Em Sandeham Ledu won the Song of the Year and Best Listener’s Choice Awards at the Mirchi Music South Awards. Kalyani also bagged the Best Playback Singer (Male) and Music Composer of the Year Awards in the same event. In 2016, KalHe is married to Uma Koduri and they have one child.
