Bharadwaja Tammareddy was born on June 30, 1948. Bharadwaja Tammareddy studied in Wesley High School in Secunderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India. Later, he pursued Engineering from Osmania University. He served as the civil engineer in the irrigation department in the then Andhra Pradesh state.

Though his father has good name and fame in the film industry, Bharadwaja Tammareddy never thought of going and exploring the cinematic field. Bharadwaja Tammareddy was the director of films like Pachani Samsaram, ‘Alajadi’, ‘Swarnakka’, etc. out of which the latter two got a fabulous response. He won many Nandi Awards for most of his films. He worked as the President of Andhra Pradesh Directors Association, and the head of Andhra Pradesh Film Chambers Association. He had a very kind heart with a communist mindset. He came forward to solve many labor problems in the film industry.

Bharadwaja Tammareddy is not an exception for controversies. During his struggle to bring Telugu film industry back to Hyderabad, he faced a lot of criticism. Apart from this, he also had a personal row with the actor Rajashekhar, after the movie ‘Vetagadu’, tasted a flop.
