M.M Srilekha

Koduri Srilekha, who changed her name to M.M. Srilekha after entering into films, is a multitalented woman from Andhra Pradesh. She is a gifted Musician, who sings and composes for Indian movies, mainly for the Telugu Industry. She stands out in Tollywood as the only Woman Music Composer. Srilekha began her musical journey in the Industry at the age of twelve. Her first role in the Telugu Cinema was playback singing.

She recorded her first song for the flick Sampradayam, in the year 1996. As a composer, her stint in the cinema field began in the year 1992 and surprisingly, her debut was through a Tamil movie, Naalaya Theerpu. S.A. Chandrasekar directed the flick and it and had Ilayathalapathy Vijay as the Hero. In Telugu Film Industry, she debuted through the movie Taj Mahal, in the year 1995. Srilekha did not limit herself to Telugu Films. She has also made music for Hindi Films such as Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rehte Hain, Mere Sapnon Ki Raani, Aaghaaz and a few more. Srilekha has sung for several movies in the period 1995 to 2011.

The movies in which she has sung are Kiran Datti (2011), Kausalya Supraja Rama (2008), Chandamama (2007), Sri Krishna Story coming soon... >> Read More... (2006), Fools (2003), Annamayya (1997) and so on. She has been the playback singer for over 1000 songs. Em, Babu Laddu Kavala is her latest release in Telugu, as a music composer. Srilekha has more than 75 films to her credit, as a Music Director. This skilled Musician has so far composed in five Indian languages. Srilekha’s family members have been a part of the Telugu Film Industry for over a decade. Srilekha is the cousin of M.M. Keeravani, a prominent Composer in the industry. Director S.S. Rajamouli, who mainly takes grand historical Films, is her close relative. Director Vijayendra Prasad, Music Composer Kalyani Malik, Writer Siva Sakthi Data all belong to the same family of Srilekha.
