Mayuri was bestowed an honorary doctorate by Karnataka State Open University for her exceptional services in Women Empowerment and Human Rights. She has an enterprising personality. Mayuri has sailed a yacht and learned jet skiing by herself. She changed her screen name from Flora to Asha and then to Mayuri on the suggestions of others. Currently, she goes by her birth name Flora in the film industry. She first ventured into fashion and entertainment with Miss Calcutta.
