Nazir Ahmed Khan

Nazir Ahmad Khan was a famous Urdu actor, director, and producer who worked mainly in the Pakistani and Indian Film Industries. He was born in 1904 in Lahore, Pakistan, British India. In 1929, he shifted to Calcutta to fulfill his dreams and become an actor. He is the first successful hero to work in the silent era films in pre-partition India, later Pakistan. Sarfarosh and Heer in 1929 are the hit movies by Nazir in the silent era. He continued acting and completed around 200 films in 55 years of his career and is known for casting opposite the 35 topmost actresses of their time. In 1947, he shifted back to Pakistan after his studio burnt down during the partition riots.
