Brett Lee: From Cricket To Bollywood

India is a country where cricket is followed like a religion. Even the youngest of kids in our country are aware of cricketers from across the world, their strengths and weaknesses on the field, and to some extent know about their personal lives as well, thanks to the media. Nevertheless, he continued to play for Kings XI Punjab in IPL for a few years. It was his tenure in India that he fell in love with the people here, the food and the culture. The same fondness for Bollywood made him sign up an Indian Australian crossover film last year, and his fans were nothing short of ecstatic to hear this. The romance comedy movie is titled “UnIndian” and stars Lee and Tannishtha Chatterjee in the lead. The film has been shot extensively in Australia and revolves around the character of Will (played by Lee), who is an Australian English teacher, who falls in love with Meera (played by Chatterjee). Tannishtha, who has played significant roles in some Hollywood films prior to “UnIndian”, plays the role of a single mother in this rom-com flick. The film was presented this year at the Cannes Film Festival and it managed to impress the critics. Brett said that though the character building of Will took time, he thoroughly enjoyed every moment spent at the set. “UnIndian” released in Australian theaters last year itself and is set to release in India on 5th August
