In fact, in her film Chetna, she played the character of a prostitute, a role turned down by many leading actresses of those days. The movie brought her appreciation from critics but also paved the way for her exit from the industry. She later married B.R. Ishara, the director of Chetna and settled in Mumbai. But after her husband’s death in 2012, there was literally nothing left for her.
