According to a Survey, this film is the best romantic film in the Hindi Film Industry, or more precisely “The Most Evergreen Love Story”. SoGoSurvey conducted the survey, and around 4100 people participated in it- of all age groups from various cities like Mumbai, Pune, Kolkata, New Delhi, etc. DDLJ received 47.33% of votes from people. The film is popular among the youth as well as the elderly audience.
This love story of Raj and Simran had set a landmark in Bollywood, and even after more than 20 years of the film, none of the Bollywood films could match the depth and power of DDLJ. DDLJ still runs at the Maratha Mandir in Mumbai and is screened daily.
