How did this happen, when ‘Crew’ had no major competition from any Bollywood movie?

The makers of ‘Crew’ underestimated the presence of both ‘Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire’ and ‘Tillu Square’, which released on the same day. While ‘Godzilla x Kong’ earned a staggering 58.4 crores, ‘Tillu Square’ earned almost 50 crores from the domestic collections. They also ate into the collections of ‘Crew’, which has barely managed to cross the overseas revenue, thanks to the overseas revenue.

Only a few years ago, Bollywood faced a similar kind of surprise from the audience. In December 2021, Kabir Khan’s much awaited ‘83’ was all set for a Christmas release.
