Martin Scorsese And George Lucas To Restore Classic Kannada Film

As per the media reports Martin Scorsese’s World Cinema Project and George Lucas’s Lucas Family Foundation shall jointly restore the Kannada film ‘Ghatashraddha’. Film Heritage Foundation shall be assisting the two. The source material for the restoration is at the NFAI [National Film Archive of India]. The restoration will be completed in Bologna, Italy.

Interestingly, the Film Heritage Foundation collaborated with the World Cinema Project to restore films like the Malayalam films Kummatty and Thamp.
