We all know that I. V. Sasi is a good filmmaker. Recently, he has bagged the JC Daniel Award for 2014, for his excellent contribution in the Malayalam Cinema. He was selected for the award by the five member jury, which is led by writer MT Vasudevan Nair. The jury has Madhu, the actor; PV Gangadharan, the film producer; Rani George, the Cultural Affairs Secretary and the filmmaker T Rajeevnath, Chalachitra Academy Chairman. This award is given by the Kerala Government since 1992, in the memory of the legendary filmmaker JC Daniel, who is said to be the father of Malayalam Cinema. This award is considered to be the most prestigious award in the Malayalam cinema industry. I.V. Sasi stepped into the film industry as an art director. His first movie as a director was through Utsavam in 1975. The iconic movies, Avalude Ravukal, Angadi, Athirathram, Devasuram are helmed by Sasi. Actress Seema, who made her debut in Avalude Ravukal, is the wife of Sasi.
