So this created controversy and many people started questioning the BCCI for shooting a photo with Anushka Sharma and mentioning it as team India. Some netizens commented that when the Vice Captain is in the last row, the first lady of Indian cricket Captain is in the front row and another netizen questioned," Why BCCI allows someone's wife at the official tour? Please confirm is your team men are at work or on honeymoon." Another person tweeted, “Who is this new team India squad member in green? The actual players are not even seen properly, but an actress who has nothing to do with cricket is in the front row.” Another tweet says, “Serious Question. #AnushkaSharma needed in this picture??? And hashtag is #TeamIndia members?” Following this controversy, the BCCI source cleared to a newspaper that the event was not an official one and hence the BCC could not ban Anushka Sharma. The photo was shot at the High Commissioner of India's residence and not at the high commission and it was the high commissioner and his wife who invited the players and their relatives, said BCCI.
