Karunanidhi, the DMK chief, who had been suffering from the urinary tract infection, was admitted to Cauvery hospital on 28 July 2018. Despite the first class treatment given at the Kauvery Hospitals, his body failed to recuperate and due to the multiple organ failure, Karunanidhi passed away on 7th August 2018. On 8 August, he was laid to rest in Marina beach near Anna Memorial. With the lakhs and lakhs of DMK cadres, political leaders, film fraternities and his family members, Karunanidhi completed his final journey in Marina. Started his career as a scriptwriter in cinema, Karunanidhi completed his life as a senior politician with hi-tech managerial skills.
