Gold biscuits are found in an Air India flight that came from Sharjah to Chennai. After the passengers get down, the staffs who involved in cleaning the flight, found a life jacket under a seat. When checked it, they witnessed gold biscuits that weigh 500 gm. The present value of the gold biscuits is Rs 16 lakhs. The airline staffs handed over the gold biscuits to the customs officers and the inquiry is on.
In another incident, the customs arrested two people, who tried to smuggle the foreign currency worth Rs 46 lakhs Chennai to Sri Lanka. Euro currencies and Saudi Riyal are seized from Mohammad Nashar of Trichy and Ajub Khan of Madurai. The customs officers are inquiring both of them in this regard.
