Ramnath Kovind also stated that we are in debt to the freedom fighters. We should hail those people who sacrificed their lives during the independence struggle, said Kovind. He also said that the people accepted the GST Bill. Kovind stated that People’s cooperation with the government against corruption and black money shows that India reflects a responsible society. As per the request by the PM, more than 1 crore people surrendered the subsidies given to them in LPG and it is a welcome move, lauded Kovind. Demonetization of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes had helped the country to make an honest society, said Ramnath Kovind.
