The producer of Manikarnika, Kamal Jain stated that Rani Lakshmi Bhai had faced a lot of serious troubles in her life. This biographical movie will showcase the challenges she faced and the efforts she took to save her country, said Kamal. He also added that Kangana had not acted but lived as Rani Lakshmi Bhai. Kangana stated that Manikarnika is about patriotism and patriotic sentiments. She feels fortunate to have played this character.
