A.L. Azhagappan, the senior film producer and father of film director Vijay has objected to Kalaipuli S. Thanu intervening in the Nadigar Sangam squabble for leadership. He says that Thanu was earlier supported by Sarathkumar when he stood for President of the Tamil Film Producers Council.
He said,” Now it is most likely that Thanu will support Sarathkumar against Vishal when he stands for election in the Nadigar Sangam. It would be wrong to project his individual take on the subject as that of the Tamil Film Producers’ Council. Especially so, as none of the council members have been consulted.
Election should be a truly democratic process. There are plenty of associations in Kollywood and it is not appropriate for one association to intervene in the working of another association. Thanu can individually support Sarathkumar but not as representive of the Producrs’ Council”.
