Charles says that they have shot the film in a thrilling way like its story. Saalai is a psychological thriller. The script needed the snow background and hence they chose Kashmir. The Snow Mountains played a spectacular role in the film, says Charles. He also says that many people don’t prefer to shoot in Kashmir, due to its present situation but we have wrapped up the film successfully. The team has got the permission from the government to shoot the film. However, they felt like walking on a sharp knife, as anything could happen in Kashmir at any time. He thanks the people of Kashmir, who had helped them to shoot without any obstacles. The Kashmiris, who helped them learned a few Tamil words from the crew, says Charles.
