The first superstar of Tamil movie industry is MK Thyagaraja Bagavathar. Pavalakodi is the first film by Bagavathar. After he was alleged in the Lakshmikanthan murder case, his films didn’t make hit in the box office. Later he died at his 49. Although his life ended soon, he had been still celebrated as the first superstar. He excelled not only in acting but in singing too. His memorial day is observed today. The Vellore district Stage drama artists hosted an event to pay tribute to Thyagaraja Bagavathar. Vellore district Stage drama artists association President Pulavar K Ramakrishnan arranged for the event. Stunt choreographer Judo Rathnam preceded the event. South Indian Film Artistes Association member VK Vasudevan also attended the event.
