Ilayathalapathy Vijay is doing the lead role in the Tamil movie Mersal which is to hit the screens in a grand manner for the coming Deepavali. In a development, the Tamil Nadu government has made announcement that a ten percent of entertainment tax is to be levied or movies. This has taken distributors, producers, and theater proprietors by shock. Every section of the cine fraternity has gathered and discussed. There is decision to close the theaters from Deepavali. The theaters in six districts would be closed from Deepavali. As a matter of fact, the movie Mersal starring Vijay is to hit the screens on Deepavali. Now, there is hurdle to the release of the movie and the movie will be severely hit.
The movie crew has been taken aback following the news. It is to be noted that the movie encountered hassle in another form when the Madras High Court ordered an interim stay on the movie after the release of the movie teaser. A petitioner by name Rajendran went for an affidavit demanding an interim stay to be put on the movie Mersal. It is to be noted that the petitioner accused the production house of trademarking the title without the legal registration. The Madras High Court has issued an order such that there is an interim stay on the promotion of the movie till the 3rd of October. It is to be noted that previous Vijay Starrers as Thuppakki, Kaththi, and Thalaivaa faced difficulties during time of release.
