The flick ‘300: Rise of an Empire’ was released in 2014. It is an American movie, and a fantasy which captures the attention of audiences across the world. The movie is a sequel to the flick ‘300’ which was released in 2007.
The movie stars Lena Headey, an English actress and model, Peter Mensah, a Ghanaian British actor, David Wenham, an Australian actor, Andrew James Tiernan, an English actor, Andrew Pleavin, an English actor and Rodrigo Santoro, a Brazilian actor emerging again after roles in the predecessor. Also, there are other stars as Sullivan Stapleton, an Australian actor, Eva Green, a French actress, Hans Matheson, and Callan Mulvey. The movie hit the silver screens on March 7, 2014. The movie composer is Junkie XL.
The flick had mixed response with regard to reviews. The critics of the movie lauded the trail of actions in movie, and appreciated the delivery of actress Green. But there were negative reviews about the way the story has been woven. The movie earned a collection of $337 million across the world.
Queen Gorgo, from the Kingdom of Sparta, relates the Battle of Marathon to her men. The queen goes ten years back to relate the story. The movie is about a battle in the sea between the Persians and the Greeks. A Persian King is killed by a Greek. The slaughter of the king sparks off the subsequent events which are depicted in the movie ‘Rise of an Empire’. The slain king’s son sets out on an avenging mission which makes the story happen.
The slain Persian king’s son takes bath in a liquid after which he is vested with supernatural powers. He returns to Kingdom of Persia and announces war on Greece.
The whole movie is about the war between Persians and Greeks, in which Themistocles of Athens clashes with Xerxes. In the movie, Queen Artemisia, originally Greek had long before sought refuge in Persia following slaughter of her family. Artemisia is impressed by Themistocles’ skills and tries to entice him but fails in the attempt forcing her to avenge him in future.
Themistocles faces challenges, both from human turned God Xerxes and Queen Artemisia.
The movie received critical acclaim, and also received fairly good ratings.
