Plot

The story deals with a young boy Conor O'Malley, who tries to manage the rough attacks by his school ruffian Harry. He has been leading his life with his mother, who has been fighting to the death. When he was in a ruined state with nightmares, he receives a call at midnight. When he peeps out of the window, Conor witnesses a tree-like monster calling him. Although Conor has a little fright, he thinks that the monster has come to save him. He reaches the monster that narrates stories to him. The monster makes him understand that the death exists and he has to deal with it, even he wishes or not.
