Plot

A family discovers a box of magical animal crackers that transform whoever eats them into an animal. Armed with the enchanted box of crackers, they must save their circus from being taken over by their evil uncle Horatio.

Analysis

Animal Crackers is a family movie at it's very core. The music is apt, the voice acting is fantastic and the animation is above average. The plotline is loaded with many twists and turns, making it challenging to keep up with the story at times and has the potential of being significantly better developed than it is. The action scenes in the circus are one of the best parts of the movie, they're excellent in their delivery as well as timing, making it difficult not to watch. There are some parts

that feel too complex for a kid's movie at times, but it's important to note that it was made to appeal to the whole family so it's natural that some ideas would be geared more for adult audiences and try to hook their attention.

Verdict

Animal Crackers is an enjoyable movie to watch if you're looking for a light hearted flick to pass the time with. It's not a serious film though some scenes are garnered more towards adult viewers, and has the right blend of character dynamics and funny, interesting behaviour that keeps the viewer entertained enough. It's a silly, wacky movie that will make for an engaging watch.
