Plot 

The film follows the music career of rock musician Joan Jett. The film follows her musical journey from being a part of The Runaways to becoming a successful solo rock musician. She was first part of The Runaways; Kristen Stewart plays Joan Jett during this segment. Subsequently, she partners up with songwriter and producer Kenny Laguna. After this, the film describes her journey of forming Joan Jett & The Blackhearts and how she subsequently established her record label Blackheart Records, with Kenny Laguna. The film ends with Joan Jett & The Blackhearts’ induction into the Hall Of Fame in 2015. 

Star Performance

The film is composed of interviews with Joan Jett, her friends, co-workers, family, and fans and of archived footage. Kristen Stewart is electric as Joan Jett when we see her.  

Analysis 

The film features some of Joan Jett’s most famous songs, which were timed very well. The film also describes the last two decades of Joan Jett’s career, such as her song for The Gits and her tour in support of the troops after 9/11, which not many people know about.

“Bad Reputation” is an inspiring documentary about the career of Joan Jett, one of the most well-known rock musicians. It tells us how she made a place for herself in a male-dominated field. The film would be a great watch for documentary, rock music enthusiasts.
