An unforgettable thriller based on the best-selling novel by S.J. Watson BEFORE I GO TO SLEEP!

PLOT :

Christine Lucas is a 40-year-old woman who wakes up every morning without any memory of her yesterdays and not even about the man sleeping next to her as a result of brain damage in an accident occurred ten years before. This man makes her understand that she is his wife.

In her 20s, she suffered the accident, and it led her to a Trauma, resulting her being naked in a truck Depot which erased her memory. She gets to regain her memory slowly by remembering some names that she was frequently used to during the period of the incident. The struggles she undergoes and the incidents she experiences to regain her memory completely falls as the core of the story which can assure us some entertainment, especially when she uncovers some mysteries of her past.

ANALYSIS:

Rowan Joffe’s writing and direction from SJ Watson's novel had a difficulty to tell this story in a visual point of view, so it has forced us to watch it with a conduct of an average written dialogue, and most of which serves to explain the upcoming twists and turns to the audience. The story is not intact, in which we're asked to question everything we're told in.

STAR PERFORMANCE:

Kidman has made her job perfectly good, except in some situations of the movie resulting in Kidman's general lack of emotion as an actress. A decent play from the supporting actors becomes a little helpful in the stroll of the movie.

What's There?

1. A stylish reflection of the novel makes it more appealing.

2. Fast pacing and energetic scenes are more convincing.

What's not There?

1. The film does not explain some situations of the movie and leaves us blank.

2. Unimpressively written dialogues and unreasonable twists.

VERDICT:

Unexplanatory twists and fast frames do not affect the audience to get into the character of Christine, but that brings amnesia to the audience too!!
