Plot: The film starts with a series of flashbacks; the story is about Dean (Ryan) and Cindy (Michelle) who get hitched. Dean is a school dropout and Cindy is a pre-med student who leaves with her parents. She witnesses her parents fight everyday and gets upset over this. She meets Dean when she is with her grandmother in a hospital while Dean comes there to install some furniture in it. They start dating each other and eventually Dean ask her to marry him to which Cindy relents as she is already pregnant with her ex-boyfriend Bobby’s child. She decides to abort the child only to reject it at the last moment. Dean comforts her and says he is completely okay if the child is his or not. Later Bobby finds out about their marriage and thrashes Dean for this.

Thus, they start living happily with their child Frankie. Dean works as a house painter and Cindy works as a nurse in Pennsylvania. Dean asks her to take a break from her and escape their busy schedule with some personal time for them to which she agrees. Thus they go out for a romantic holiday when she encounters Bobby, who chides her by saying she would not be able to live with Dean. Dean finds out that she met Bobby and becomes angry with her, and they have a fight. Later, she again gets hit on by the doctor for whom she works. The doctor talks about her better position in his hospital as he is visibly attracted to her leaving her upset, she leaves saying that she was hired because of her working skills not for some lust filling purposes.

Dean comes to know of this and has a fight with the doctor. This upsets Cindy who decides to call it quits on their relationship. Dean persuades her and says that their daughter Frankie won’t be able to live in such a broken situation they reconcile later, but Dean knows their time is up and thus decides to leave both of them, Frankie rushes back to him but he playfully makes her go back to Cindy and disappears, Frankie laments and says that she loves him as the film concludes.

Analysis: This is a regular romantic drama film but still with more complexities that feel good. It would satisfy the audience who are looking for a romantic tragedy but still this movie could have fared well. Michelle plays her role fantastically, and Hollywood Romeo Ryan, who has done such movies like “ Notebook Click to look into! >> Read More... ”, handles the lover boy image well. The screenplay is attractive enough, and cinematography too is quite warm and appealing.

Star Performances: Ryan Gosling and Michelle have the chemistry which audiences usually desire for. Their bitter-sweet relationship is well portrayed and thus is a treat to watch.

What's There?

• A nice plot and the incomplete conclusion will poke you in your hearts.

• Good performances by lead pair.

• Smooth screenplay.

What's Not There?

• The film gets clumsy when the past of the main character comes to light.

• Michelle sometimes acts discreetly in comparison to Ryan.

Verdict: This is a sweet little love story laced with dilemmas, anguish, anger, love, belief and tragedy. This movie will move you to tears in its conclusion and would surely make your heart melt.
