‘Bridgend’ tries to tell you that there were 79 suicides in Bridgend from 2007 to 2012 consecutively. Coincidently or reasonably all the suicides were done by hanging only. And here the suspense arises.

Plot

Dave takes his daughter with him to a village for his new assignment. As a police officer, Dave goes to the village and starts working on his assignment. His daughter Sara joins a group of friends over there. Mysterious group friends gather over there in a group. Sara parties with them enter into a wood for a picnic. In the wood, all the twists and turns begin to flow with all of them. From here onwards the story goes on and ultimately leads suicide.

Analysis

A refreshing story that completely dares to answer the question-“why those suicides happened? “ The movie includes so many locals inside it because it took 5 years to bring out the story and it would remain unfulfilled if the locals weren’t cast in it. It’s not a horror movie but it giving haunting like thrill scary finish. The key roles played by the dad-daughter duo are highly impressive. The cinematography was quite average. And this juvenile and little scary drama go smoothly. We wanted something more but we didn’t get it from the cast. But their work is admirable.

Star Performance

The lead characters delivered their best which won’t disappoint you. Yes, we can’t ignore the sleek performances of Mr.Waddington and the beautiful Ms.Murray. Their immersive characters keep you connected throughout the movie.

What’s There

1. Some breathtaking moments while Sara becomes a key part of the group.

2. Refreshing concept and experimental script.

3. Purely juvenile.

4. Average background score and cinematography of Nordenhof Jonck.

5. Great way of revealing the truth.

What’s Not There

1. A complicated script which doesn’t solves its puzzles further.

2. Lack of balance shakes the script sometime in the second half.

3. Throwing all the responsibility of deaths to adolescence makes no ultimate result about the suicides.

Verdict

Juvenile drama, experimental script and so on...There are so many things to watch out for if you are interested in such a movie.
