Plot: John works in the US Army and has come home for his summer vacations. While on this trip back home he gets smitten by a girl and falls in love with her. He befriends her and her problems. Their love comes at a testing point when he enlists himself again after the 9/11 attacks.
What you may like:
1. The movie has a very touchy and emotional story. It will move you into tears sometimes and make you smile the others.
2. It is wonderful how the cinematography has been done so beautifully with the various picturesque scenarios shown.
3. The director had a lot of expectations on his shoulder especially after The Notebook but has definitely done a great job.
4. The script is very beautifully written and is so much believable and relatable that you may really love to sit through the whole movie without getting bored if you love romantic movies.

has done a charmingly wonderful job and has made his role very much believable.
What you may dislike:
1. It feels like the scenes in the movie are rushed and not very well explained. So if you watch the movie without reading the book, you may get confused about what's happening.
2. The characters in the movie are poorly built and not given a chance to tell their stories.
3. If you have read the novel, then you may get severely disappointed by this movie because it doesn't live up to the magical realm that the book was able to build despite the charming cast and beautiful scenes.
4. There are certain issues with the pace too. It becomes slightly uneven in its progression of the story.
Verdict: If you have a knack for romantic movies, you should definitely watch it but if you ardently hate such movies, do not go because it'll put you to sleep.
