Plot

Erin Bell, an LAPD detective receives a mysterious $100 bill at her station. She informs her partner, Chris about this and they find out that it was from a bank robbery 16 years ago. They were both in an undercover operation during that robbery so they know all the details about that and they are positive that their gang leader Silas is active now. What will Silas do now? What happened during that robbery? Will Erin and Chris’s past haunt them?

Star Performance

Nicole Kidman was a star in the movie. With her graceful acting, intense expressions, and powerful dialogues, she delivered everything perfectly. Sebastian as Chris did a fantastic job here. They constantly kept us hooked throughout the movie.

Analysis

The unique way of portraying the female lead is new in the movie. She is shown as a bad woman yet a good mother. It is difficult to tell whether she is a good or bad character and even though we cannot justify her actions we just accept them because she is doing it for her child.

What’s There?

• Great script and a solid plot.

• The camera work is to be appreciated.

What’s Not There?

• Few minor issues such as costume design and makeup were poor quality.

• The constant flashback reveals were disturbing the flow.

Verdict

The poetic slow-burn film is recommended for everyone to watch. As the title suggests her own actions destroyed her life.
