The movie ‘Dylan Dog: Dead of Night’ is based on the noted Italian comics book by Tiziano Sclavi. 60 million copies of the comics' book were sold.

The movie bears a resemblance to the horror movies of the decade of 1980’s. does the character of Dylan Dog in this flick. Dylan Dog is a private sleuth, and he takes up the cases of the walking dead, in other words, the zombies.

In short, he deals with cases of paranormal activities. Dylan has bullets in his possession and also a sharp mind. He takes up a case, which is to find out a work of art. The work of art is a very hazardous one, and if the private sleuth fails in the mission, it will cause an outbreak of war. The city of New Orleans is full of monsters that will start fighting with each other. There are various monsters in the movie as werewolves, vampires, and the zombies. Dylan’s assistant is Sam Huntington, who does the character Marcus in the movie. Marcus is interested in his job as a sleuth, and has wanderlust and gets his detective agency across places.

When Dylan Dog’s profession takes a toll on his girlfriend’s life, he decides to stop doing cases with the paranormal in it. A twist in the movie causes Dylan to make a comeback to his profession as a private eye. A woman calls Dylan asking for assistance following the death of her father. Dylan is hesitant, but tragedy strikes as his friend Marcus is killed. Now, Dylan becomes determined to take up the case and gets himself involved.

Zombies and werewolves make an appearance in the movie adding to its creepiness. Unexpectedly, Marcus makes a comeback from the dead, and both Dylan and Marcus put together the pieces and solve the case. But, before the case is settled, they meet with terrifying situations that give a spine-chilling effect to the audience. Brandon Routh is known for his Superman appearance in the movie by Warner Bros. Till date, the Superman role by Routh has a hangover on everyone among the audience, and almost everybody finds it difficult to see him as a private sleuth dealing with paranormal cases. But Routh has done well his part as a private detective. The movie is somewhat silly, but it gives everybody a pleasant reminder of those monster movies of the decade of 1980’s.
