Plot: The movie is a fictional journey to Jupiter’s moon Europa. Unmanned satellite probes on the surface of Jupiter’s moons reveals that there is single-celled life on Europa. Six Astronauts set out on a mission that lands them in doom. There is a technical snag that disables all radios and contact with Earth is lost. There is a crisis onboard. But, the astronauts do not lose hope and proceed. They tread on a mind-blowing mystery. There are beautiful scenes in the movie till finish.

In every movie with space mission in it, the astronauts land in trouble. The reason is that there were real-life instances of trouble. The movie The Europa Report draws inspiration from the news of water having been discovered in one of Jupiter’s moon. Director Sebastian Cordero combines poise and technical nuances to come out with a beautiful movie like this. The astonishing fact is that the movie’s quality is good although it is a low-budget one. It is not about some technicians dealing with a technical snag onboard, but humans dealing with their humanity. There is a gifted cast as Christian Camargo, Daniel, Anamaria and Michael Nyquist. There is a flaw in the movie. The first half an hour seems to be eternal. But then, the film picks up speed and scenes unfold rapidly. The movie happens to be the best after ‘A Space Odyssey’ by Stanley Kubrick.

Verdict: It is a must watch movie for those interested in the cosmos.
